The Housekeeper is an environmental services worker who is responsible for daily housekeeping services as assigned, using procedures as outlined by the hospital or service organization. The pre-screening will include a background check (must be clean), drug test (must be clean) and nicotine screening (nicotine user can apply if they are committed to quit smoking). Laboratory Courier

Laboratory Couriers are responsible for the daily operations of any route within the courier business model. Responsible for the appropriate and safe handling of all types of specimen ensure appropriate packaging and transferring of all materials and specimens. Patient Transporter

The goal of the Patient Transport Department is to transport patients in a safe and timely manner throughout the medical complex, promote the safety and well being of all patients that we serve, and maintain transport equipment within the medical complex. Patient Transport employs a state of the art Tele-Tracking system to facilitate and coordinate assignments throughout the hospital to support efficiency and customer/patient care. Transports patients and/or items such as lab specimens and x-ray films to and from patient rooms and ancillary areas. Provides an acceptable flow of customer and miscellaneous items to and from different treatment areas, physician's offices, and other areas throughout the medical complex. Food Service Worker

BE A HERO! We are facing challenging times and you can make a difference. St. Louis area hospital is seeking candidates to assist in their Food & Nutrition department. The Food and Nutrition department consists of patient, retail and catering services. It is the role of the department to serve the needs of patients, visitors and employees with excellent customer service. Our qualified staff services the patients' nutritional needs during their hospital stay according to specified guidelines to improve their clinical status and assist in the healing process. Responsible for performing a variety of food service functions such as preparation of food, setting up of service areas with food, utensils, and garnishments, food portioning, serving, sanitation, operating cash register, assembling patient trays and assisting with customer requests. Production Worker

The ideal applicant will possess most or all these skills:

  • Relevant experience operating production equipment or training in a related vocational program

  • Ability to understand work orders and properly perform set-ups.

  • Must be comfortable standing and moving 8-10 hours with breaks.

  • Experience in industrial and fast paced production environment preferred. 

  • Usage of safe work habits.

  • Strong work ethic and consistent attendance

We offer:

  • Temp to Perm Full time ongoing position.

  • First shift: 5:30am to 3:00pm - Monday through Friday with an additional hour of overtime each day. Opportunity to work more overtime on Saturday (5:00am-11:00am)

  • Second shift: 11:30 am to 11:00 pm - Monday through Thursday. Opportunity to work more overtime Friday and Saturday.

  • Competitive salary based on experience and ability to be trained ($12.00/hr.-$13.00/hr.)

Van Driver & Warehouse

The Van Driver at travels throughout St. Louis County and City to collect and distribute food for members of our community who are affected by hunger. While engaged in driving for much of the workday, additional tasks are required to support the daily operations of the food pantry. This position requires high energy, a safe driving record and an above average amount of physical effort. The Driver position includes various tasks such as:

  • Picking up large quantities of food, and occasionally other items, from community locations.

  • Unloading products and moving them to the warehouse, coolers, and freezer.

  • Operating forklift and pallet jack to move pallets in support of delivery and storage of food.

  • Delivering food to elderly and/or disabled clients.

  • Delivering and picking up baskets and centerpieces for agency’s Celebration Basket Program

  • Maintaining cleanliness in the warehouse, sorting area, parking lot, and outside trash area.

  • Maintaining a clean van.

  • Removing trash and breaking down boxes for recycling.

The successful candidate is able to work as part of a team, follow written and verbal instructions, demonstrate flexibility, communicate information to the supervisor and among the other drivers, and build and maintain positive relationships with vendors, volunteers, and co-workers.

Requirements:

  • High school education or GED.

  • Able to use office equipment, personal computer, and related software applications.

  • Valid Class E driver’s license.

  • Passion for the JFS mission.

  • Builds relationships easily.

Behavioral Support Technician

Summary/Objective

The Behavioral Support Technician serves in a paraprofessional capacity assisting clients in an educational, learning, caring and helping capacity for independent living.  The primary function is to ensure each client’s safety and well-being, supervise administration of daily medication and document medication adherence or non-adherence in Medical Administration Record. Document all significant information in appropriate health record or software.

Essential Functions

  1. Supervise clients taking medication(s) and documenting medication compliance or non-compliance in Medical Administration Record.

  2. Make daily contact with all residential clients to supervise ADLs (activities of daily living) and to monitor behavior while at housing sites.

  3. Perform rounds as required by facility, and/or any regulatory or funding body.

  4. As required, be responsible for evening and weekend food preparation and serving of portions when no Dietary staff is present.

  5. Required Education and Experience

  6. Minimum High School Diploma or GED with 3-4 years’ experience working for an agency serving clients experiencing substance abuse, severe and persistent mental illness, dual diagnosis, homelessness, and/or HIV/AIDS OR minimum Associate’s Degree with two years’ experience working for an agency serving clients experiencing substance abuse, severe and persistent mental illness, dual diagnosis, homelessness and/or HIV/AIDS.

  7.  Status as a Certified Medication Technician (CMT) or Level I Medication Aide preferred

  8.  CPR and first aid certification preferred

  9.  Knowledge of HIPAA/privacy standards and professional boundaries required.

  10. Shelter Monitor - $12.00/hr, Weekend Shift- Saturday 5pm-7am Sunday 5pm-7a Thurs 11pm-7a 

Shelter Monitor

A client of MWS currently has openings for Full-Time, Part-Time Shelter and PRN Monitors. If you have a desire to work with a team of caring professionals that offers hope, empowerment compassion, hospitality and chance for independence, you can help us solve homelessness for our community.

Summary/Objective

Assist in overseeing the daily operation of the Emergency Shelter, ensuring that activities are carried out in a safe, professional manner in safe, trauma-informed, well-maintained facilities. Primarily evening and overnight hours.

Essential Functions:

  1. Ability to serve clients with dignity and respect, in a non-judgmental way. Peter & Paul does not discriminate based on race, religion, sexual orientation, etc. and expects all employees to do the same.

  2. Attend all regularly scheduled staff meetings.

  3. Willingness to take a Trauma Informed approach to addressing clients.

  4. Assist in tracking all outcomes according to good practice standards/funder requirements.

  5. Assist in overseeing volunteers.

  6. Monitor evening and weekend food preparation and serving.
